At Bailey Henchie Physiotherapy Inc., we offer a comprehensive range of physiotherapy solutions designed to meet the needs of different types of patients: men, women and children; athletes; and elderly people.
Based in Northcliff, Johannesburg, we are OMT-trained physiotherapists, and we have over 30 years’ experience between us.

Meet the Team
Bronwen Henchie
BSc(Physio) (WITS), OMT
Practice Owner
Originally from Durban, I graduated with a BSc (Physio) from the University of the Witwatersrand in 2004.
I obtained my Post-Graduate OMT (Orthopedic Manipulative Therapy) certificate in 2007.
Working at Bell, Rogers and Harris Physiotherapy from 2008, I developed a particular interest in shoulder issues and the correction of biomechanical faults.
I combine lecturing and mentoring for OMT and Sports Post-Graduate students with the practical side of treating and rehabilitating patients.
I formed my successful partnership with Sharné Bailey in 2015.

Sharné Bailey
BSc(Physio) (WITS), OMT
Practice Owner
I graduated with a BSc (Physio) from the University of the Witwatersrand in 2002.
I have worked in physiotherapy specialties, including paediatrics, medicine and surgery, orthopaedics and sports therapy. I obtained my Post-Graduate OMT (Orthopaedic Manipulation Therapy) certificate in 2007, before opening my own practice in 2008, where I focused on sports and orthopaedics as well as sports-specific rehabilitation.
I have also represented South Africa in hockey, with 117 test caps including being selected for the World Cups in Perth (2002) and Madrid (2006), the 2004 Athens Olympics and the 2006 Melbourne Commonwealth Games.
My experiences of competing at this level have given me deep insights into injury prevention and treatment.
I formed my successful partnership with Bronwen Henchie in 2015.

Dionne McKenzie
BSc(Physio) (WITS), SPT
Senior Physiotherapist
I grew up in Boksburg, and graduated with a BSc (Physio) from the University of the Witwatersrand in 2013.
Three years later I completed my Post-Graduate SPT (Sport Physiotherapy) certificate. My professional experience includes working both in-hospital and with outpatients, treating acute and subacute sports injuries and assisting with rehabilitation after cardiopulmonary and shoulder surgery.
In my quest to provide excellent research-based treatment and rehabilitation, I have developed a keen interest in dry needling for pain relief and conditions of the temporomandibular joint (where the lower jaw connects to the skull).
I have completed numerous continuous professional development courses. I have worked with Bailey Henchie Physiotherapy Inc. since 2020.

Michael Neves Alves
BSc (Physio) (WITS)
Junior Physiotherapist
I was born and raised in Randburg and graduated with a BSc (Physio) from the University of the Witwatersrand in 2021.
I completed my Community Service year at Sizwe Tropical Disease Hospital in Edenvale, a drug-resistant TB hospital, where I obtained experience treating patients with cardiopulmonary and neurological conditions. During this time, I completed courses in Dry Needling Level 1, Sports Injuries Management, and Lower Back Pain.
I have a special interest in treating patients with orthopaedic, musculoskeletal, and sports-related injuries. I have a strong desire to learn more about the way our bodies function as well as how to correctly diagnose and treat the root cause of these injuries.
I started working for Bailey Henchie Physiotherapy Inc. since 2023.
